Customer Reviews
At first the transition from 24-hour care at home to Loveday was quite traumatic for my husband, and I initially feared he would not settle. But gradually, with the warm and loving support of each and every member of staff, he adapted to the new rhythms of life. The constant good humour and endless patience of the expertly trained carers never cease to amaze me. I am also most impressed with the quality and variety of events and entertainment available to residents and their visitors. I can spend a lovely afternoon listening to a very talented musician having had a superb lunch with my husband. All in all, I believe it is the best possible ‘home from home’ for a loved one and I give daily gratitude to Loveday.
K.C (Wife of a Resident)
Both of my parents have been living at Loveday for over a year now. It has been truly remarkable to witness the dedication, care, and personal engagement shown by every member of the team, tailored to both parents and their very different needs.
The quality of medical attention is superb, and the kindness and humanity with which they support both Mum and Dad – even during the more intense moments – has deeply touched us as a family.
T.W (Daughter of a Resident)
My wife entered Loveday at a time when it had become apparent that she had only a short time remaining. Her care needs were such that her welfare and dignity depended on the professionalism and kindness of her carers, and we gave much anxious thought to where she would be best looked after. We opted for Loveday as we had received several recommendations praising the care offered. From our first contact, through the assessment process, the admission and my wife’s stay there, my wife and our family were treated with an exceptional level of kindness, understanding and compassion. The infrastructure and facilities are more like a 5* hotel than a care home and are far ahead of any other care home that I have seen (and I have seen many over the years), but it was not these that stood out for us. Rather, it was the professionalism and empathy of the staff and the level of care that they provided, which was truly outstanding.
We could not have hoped for better.
Thank you Team Loveday !
R.H (Husband of resident)
A wonderfully supportive team at Loveday during a very difficult period. Of course, it’s a beautiful residence, but the level of personal care was outstanding – not just day-to-day, but also during transfers to and from hospital.
Loveday made two of their wonderful carers available to us until the very end, and we are all so grateful that my dad was able to spend his final weeks with your tremendous support.
Thank you.

We knew that moving our aunt, who has dementia, into a residence would be difficult, as she didn’t fully understand her situation or accept that she needed help. We had to make the move in her best interests, without her full knowledge.
The staff at Loveday were brilliant. They managed her transition with care and sensitivity – charming and gently distracting her when needed. Even on the more difficult days, they looked after her impeccably. Everyone – from the general manager to the carers, activity team, chefs, and reception – took time to get to know and understand her.
She’s been at Loveday for over a year now and is far more content than when she was struggling at home. The staff are dedicated, compassionate, and seem to genuinely enjoy their work. The level of individualised care is exceptional.
Highly recommended.
I.C (Niece of a Resident)
Abbey Road has been perfect for my mother. She has many needs, and her care has been second to none. She is happy and extremely well looked after. It’s a wonderful residence with excellent, caring staff.
10/10 for everything.
M.J (Daughter of a Resident)
Loveday Abbey Road is an outstanding residence, with beautiful interiors and an exquisite garden. The food is wonderful, and great care is taken to provide meals that both Members and their visitors truly value.
The staff are exceptionally dedicated, and I feel very grateful that my mother, who has dementia, has been a Member there for the past nine months.
I found the process of moving her into residential care emotionally challenging, but I was supported at every stage. It was clear that she – and our family as a whole – would be treated with great sensitivity and kindness.
With gentle encouragement from the team, she has engaged in many of the activities on offer and is now extremely settled.
To know that she is safe and so beautifully cared for brings me tremendous comfort. I visited three other care homes before choosing where my mother might live – and Loveday was in a different league.
I would not hesitate to recommend it. It is such a special place.

K. C (Wife of a Resident)
Our Mother first enjoyed Loveday following her hip replacement last summer, spending much time socialising in the gardens with friends and family, or dining 5* in the restaurant. Rehab, physio and personal nursing care were all above and beyond. Sadly, just over a year later, Mum succumbed to cancer and required 24/7 palliative care. It was a no-brainer! Loveday!
They arranged all the transport, a suitable room with a visitor sitting area for us, and Mum’s two familiar and much-loved nurses were again caring for her (and us!). She was always kept immaculate – clean, coiffed and comfortable. It became our “home from home”.
Even after the eventual early hours call, Loveday treated Mum and us with respect and dignity, and helped with the next steps arrangements.
With huge gratitude forever
