How Loveday Creates Personalised Experiences for Every Resident

Full curated care experiences in London from Loveday

Life in later years can be shaped around an individual’s clinical requirements, personal preferences, lifelong passions and preferred pastimes. Research highlights the importance of taking a holistic approach to care to make it more individualised, with  tailored support and strong relationships contributing to quality of life and wellbeing.

Living life well is inherently individual, so understanding what matters to a person can help ensure their everyday experiences reflect their values.

Care as a Philosophy

At Loveday, we recognise that no two people are the same and everyone will have different needs, preferences and values. Our philosophy of care is grounded in human relationships and connection, with a commitment to understanding each resident as an individual and using this to inform decision-making. Clinical and lifestyle teams work closely together to develop and adjust every care plan, finding the most appropriate ways to meet the needs of the individual now and into the future.

As part of this philosophy, these are the principles we put into practice to offer bespoke experiences for every Loveday resident:

Listening, Learning, Understanding

A truly individual approach begins with listening and learning. We take the time to understand what matters to each resident, focusing fully on the conversation and what is being shared. We want every resident to feel heard and valued, building trust and allowing our expertise to guide the support we provide. It all begins with truly understanding the individual in front of us.

Knowledge and relationships develop over time, and learning is an ongoing process. We observe, we listen and we always remain open minded.

“Exceptional care always begins with listening. I make sure each resident feels heard, respected and actively involved in decisions about their health. By taking the time to understand their concerns and preferences, I can tailor care plans that are clinically sound and aligned with what matters most to them.”

Valentin Lepadatu, Senior Nurse Manager at Loveday Kensington

All care plans are formed to fully account for the individual, with bespoke planning for:

  • Managing chronic conditions
  • Exercise and physiotherapy
  • Nutrition
  • Holistic wellness, including spa treatments, massages, meditation and more
  • Medical appointments, which can often take place on site
  • Pain relief

Offering Bespoke Programmes of Experiences

Loveday offers bespoke programmes of experiences curated for residents as individuals, based around art, music, exploration, lifelong learning and anything else that a person might value. The Extraordinary Days programme at Loveday has been created in collaboration with the University of West London’s Geller Institute of Ageing and Memory, with a full calendar that includes private theatre trips, curated museum visits, fine dining, creative pursuits such as flower arranging and pottery, lectures, masterclasses and fashion shows alongside many other endeavours.

Loveday is also home to the UK’s only private members club for seniors. Designed to reflect the ambience of private clubs, The Loveday Club is open to those who would like to experience exceptional hospitality on a part-time basis. Members can enjoy delicious gourmet experiences, individually curated               activities, excursions, social connection, and priority access to services such as spas and beauty treatments.

Hiring and Retaining Exceptional People

Loveday is passionate about hiring and nurturing the right people who share our values and commit to keeping resident experience at the heart of everything we do. Our teams bring together clinical expertise, a dedication to hospitality and a genuine passion for people, ensuring every resident is heard, valued and supported.

Laurence Geller, CBE, founder of Loveday, says: “Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We truly understand the importance of investing in our colleagues and team members… We were delighted to have this recognised by Investors in People, winning their Leadership and Management Award where our team was praised for their effective leadership, decision-making and ability to deliver excellence.”

The people we select to deliver the Loveday standards are committed to building meaningful relationships with residents as well as across teams, ensuring continuity of care. When teams know and understand residents, they can be proactive and supportive, part of the fabric of everyday excellence at Loveday.

Making Dining a Gourmet Experience

Dining is an experience to savour for Loveday residents and we believe in the power of taste and shared experiences to create meaningful daily rituals. Our chefs have worked in fine dining settings including The Savoy, and they are adept at bringing bespoke food to life for every resident. The Loveday culinary team works with sommeliers and restaurateurs to design menus, which can be adapted according to individual tastes, dietary requirements and changing health needs.

Loveday menus are thoughtfully designed to be nutritionally balanced and support overall health. Food choices are curated with health in mind, and dishes can be modified to suit particular requirements and dietary needs.

Residents can dine in the settings that suit them best, with a range of beautifully designed spaces available. Families are very welcome to join residents for a meal.

Creating Elevated Environments

Loveday residences are designed to offer refined surroundings while enabling the highest standards of clinical excellence. Every detail is carefully considered, with personalised private suites and bathrooms, and the highest standard of amenities throughout the residence.

Residences are thoughtfully designed to support independence and choice, with amenities including gyms, spas, beauty salons, studios and cinema/library rooms. Residents can move through a range of spaces including lounges, gardens, roof terraces and dining rooms.

Private suites are bright, comfortable and can be tailored based on medical needs, care requirements and design preferences. This gives each resident choice and control over their surroundings, supporting independence and allowing them to shape their immediate environment.

Prioritising Holistic Wellness

Wellness at Loveday extends beyond physical health, promoting vitality and holistic wellbeing. Through nursing and clinical care, therapeutic services, movement and opportunities for self-care and relaxation, residents can define what wellbeing means to them. Research supports this broader understanding of wellness, highlighting the significance of tailored care and how it can support wellbeing.

Residents can access a range of wellness services on site, including physiotherapy, exercise programmes, hydrotherapy, massages, meditation, spa treatments and hair and beauty services. These complement highly tailored care plans, helping residents maintain mobility, confidence and independence while enjoying experiences that contribute to their overall wellbeing.

Wellness is woven into everyday life, with nutritionally balanced food, time outdoors, social connection and the opportunity to pursue creative and educational pastimes. Lifestyle teams work with clinical specialists to bring together wellness and health, ensuring residents can feel their best.

Autonomy for Every Resident

Tailored experiences offer residents independence and autonomy in all aspects of daily life, from menus, to excursions, to the way suites are designed and presented. We ensure that we understand each individual’s lifestyle preferences and can incorporate them thoughtfully into everyday living, drawing on all the personalised details that bring enjoyment, comfort and fulfilment.

Anchored in expert clinical care and complemented by luxury living, the Loveday approach gives each resident the freedom to live life on their own terms.
