We are proud to announce that Laurence Geller, CBE, CEO of Loveday & Co, has been named in Care Home Professional’s Executive Power List 2025, sponsored by Radar Healthcare. This prestigious list recognises the most influential leaders in the UK care home sector, celebrating those who have driven meaningful change, innovation and impact over the past 12 months.
Selected by industry peers and colleagues, this year’s honourees represent the very best in leadership across the country’s care organisations. Laurence Geller is featured prominently on the list, a reflection of his long-standing commitment to excellence in dementia care, ageing research and national wellbeing.
As CEO of Loveday, Laurence has transformed the perception of later-life care. Loveday’s residences blend clinical excellence with five-star hospitality, setting a new benchmark for what is possible in later-life living.
Beyond his role at Loveday, Laurence’s contributions to dementia care and research are unmatched. He funded the UK’s first Master’s degree in dementia care and supports annual nursing scholarships specialising in dementia. His establishment of the Geller Institute of Ageing and Memory at the University of West London (UWL) has created the UK and Europe’s leading dementia research centre, bringing together academic rigour, clinical practice and innovation under one roof.
Laurence has also played a pivotal national role in dementia advocacy. He chaired the Alzheimer’s Society’s capital campaign, was recognised by The Times as the UK’s most significant philanthropic donor to dementia care, and launched the Geller Commission on Dementia Care, an alliance of the sector’s foremost organisations and researchers driving forward policy change and sector reform.
His influence extends into health policy and sport safety, holding government advisory roles on concussion and major health conditions. With a tenure of 15 years as Chancellor of the University of West London, Geller was recently recognised as the longest-serving Chancellor of any UK university, a testament to his commitment to education and public service.
We extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Laurence on this well-deserved recognition. His leadership continues to shape the future of care in the UK, and we are proud to have him at the helm of Loveday.
