Abul Alim – Clinical Lead
What’s a misconception about your position?
A common misconception is that my role is purely focused on residents’ clinical needs. While clinical care is at the heart of what I do, my role is much broader. I work closely with teams across Loveday to ensure every aspect of a resident’s care and experience works together, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life.
What attracted you to Loveday?
Loveday sets the benchmark for luxury later living, where 5-star hospitality meets exemplary CQC-regulated care. This is a concept which is still relatively new in the UK and I was excited to be part of the vision and I felt I could have a strong impact.
What’s an accomplishment you’re really proud of?
I’m proud to have been given the opportunity to be part of the initial teams that launched some of Loveday’s newest residences. It gave me the opportunity to help build the core teams, establish and implement our robust processes and procedures from the very beginning, and ensure the highest standards were embedded from day one.
How would you spend 30 minutes of free time?
I’m a big advocate for self-care, and I believe it’s important to make time for our own physical and mental wellbeing. Whether that’s exercising, cooking a hearty meal or even spending some time in the sauna, small things done consistently can make a real difference in the long run.
What do you want people to know about a career in care?
It may sound like a cliché, but there’s something incredibly rewarding about knowing you’re making a positive difference to people’s lives every day. The care sector also offers so many opportunities to learn, develop and progress, making it a genuinely fulfilling career.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
“Time is the only currency you can never earn back, so spend it wisely.”
