Exercise and Physiotherapy

Physical activity is vital for improving confidence and strength as well as keeping bones, muscles and the heart in optimum health. Every day at Chelsea Court Place begins with a daily dose of exercise, which is tailored to each individuals' ability, needs and personal preference. Chair Zumba, yoga, tai chi and indoor bowls are just some of the favourites, supplemented with dancing and walks around the local area.

In order to maintain independence and good mobility, physiotherapy is an integral treatment for seniors. Regular sessions can help increase strength, reduce joint and muscular pain, improve circulation and help confidence. It can also help prevent or reduce physical problems and help with elderly ailments such as arthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s and incontinence. Our physiotherapist is in residence every xxx for appointments for our residents and members.

Our members are encouraged to take part and benefit from a range of physical activities, exercises, and massages led by our licensed physiotherapist whom we work in partnership with.

Massage and Reflexology

Massage can be very beneficial in helping to both alleviate and improve aches and pains associated with ageing. Massage has been shown to help with muscle and joint pain as well as symptoms including digestive disorders and sleep. It’s also very complimentary to light exercise in the elderly and can help to alleviate stress.

For people living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, massage is a low-risk and relatively low-cost intervention that can also help with anxiety.
